QGIS and InaSAFE training hosted in Nusa Cendana University, Kupang in 14th – 15th July 2014 was part of the University Roadshow programme in some University all around Indonesia and the second activity in Riau University after socialization in 21st March 2014. The goal of this activity is to establish community that know more about OpenStreetMap, QGIS and InaSAFE and also to help Local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in their area either as data collector or data analyst.
Number of participant is 30 students who from Civil Engineering and architecture students and 8 lecturers from Nusa Cendana University. Most of them have never use QGIS or know about Geographic Information System (GIS) and only few of them that can use ArcGIS.
Having delivered the concept of Contingency Planning and Geography Information System, The training material was followed by how to use QGIS and InaSAFE including pratical session. All materials which delivered in the training are :

2. Introduction of GIS 8. Projection System & Transformation
3. Data Atribute Table & Form 9. Simbology
4. Overview and Basic Tools in QGIS 10. Labelling and Classification
5. QGIS Plugin 11. Raster Data
6. InaSAFE Practical Session 12. Vektor Analysis
In first day, the participants had pre-test to determine how far the participants knowledge about all material that would be given in this training after that they were given introduction about all steps of the university roadshow like what training they have to followand what the end goal of this roadshow so they know what they will going to do during this activity. After that they were given introduction about Contigency Planning and InaSAFE. This material is something new for participants therefore we give examples disaster case study using InaSAFE. It is Jakarta Flood hazard to make participants get better understanding about the use of InaSAFE. Next material focused on QGIS start from know QGIS basic tools, plugin, projection system, vector data process until symbologi and labelling in its feature
In Day 2, The participants taughted about raster data symbologi. Raster Data that we used was Flood Jakarta Hazard and after that session they learn about vector data analysis and how to use geoprocessing tool in QGIS to find IDP camp in some area and the last material was map layout in QGIS using map composer
After get all the material in training the participant had post test to observe their knowledge and understanding about those materials. In the last session we have competition to make a disaster map based on data which had been given to participants. From 32 participants there are only 14 participant who completed the competition and the rest failed because they did not finished their map until the deadline. Trainers selected top three participants on behalf Dian Da Silva Ara, Aprianto Nomleni, and Yudhy. Trainers also selected 2 participants who have best average score for pre test and post test. They are Leny Irawati Bire and Angelica S. Ch. Balo
Overall, The training went well and the participant looking seriously and enthustiastic during the training. The Participants hope that hope this training could continue until the last step of this University Roadshow and they can followed the training well.
